Let's Shower Outside!

There is something about an outdoor shower that I find incredibly charming. And, so very practical! I think we often associate them with beach houses and coastal climates. But, if you have kids, a dog, or a husband who likes to work in the yard.....how wonderful would it be to have one?

We have contemplated an outdoor shower so many times and I am sure this crazy hot weather is why I am thinking of them once again. I have saved so many examples and recently found some new ones.  My favorites have double sprays.  One at regular shower height and one lower...for toes, tots and furry paws!

The choices and styles are really only limited by your imagination!!! Most have cold water only since plumbing for hot outdoors can be a bit complicated and expensive.  Solar showers are also a good option.

    An outdoor shower has always been a fantasy of mine. There is no way our HOA would allow one, so it will have to remain a dream.

    Brings back so many memories of my childhood at the family beach house. All of my cousins and I would race for the out door shower to rinse off the sand that would inevitably get tracked into the house. These showers of course, are much prettier than ours was!

    There is nothing like a real outdoor shower: minus the bathing suit! WE used one in Maine for years: and it was only cold water....heavenly!

    They all evoke such a warm feeling of summer! A cottage we rented in Hawaii had one and we were surprised at how much we preferred showering in that rather than the one inside. We loved it! And we could use one here...custom made for four furry paws. : +

    I love outdoor showers, that was probably one of the BEST parts of the beach house my in-laws owned in the OBX. Whoever got to the beach first for the season used to call the others in the family to report that we got the first outdoor shower-it was always a good feeling to be the winner-what good memories! :) *Amy

    How funny! I just posted a picture of a pool w/a outdoor shower! I love outdoor showers. Just came back from my friend's house in Nantucket and I showered everyday in their outdoor shower! The best!

    Hey, I just relised that I am 56 and don't think I have ever had an outdoor shower.........think I should do something about that. Should do everything at least once, right? XO

    We have met with a potential client that has an outdoor shower now and is building a new home. It's a priority. They love their outdoor shower and will definitely have one again. thanks for the inspiration.

    I love outdoor showers! These are just wonderful. Always remember our annual pilgramage to the beach for holidays from the country and the whole outdoor shower thing

    I convinced my husband to stay in a small resort I was dying to try last time we were in Calistoga (pre-child) by the enticing outdoor shower in the suite. It was off the bathroom and nestled in the woods of wine country. It was divine.
