First Post

Welcome!  I have been designing spaces for the past few years without any real awareness of design blogs.  It wasn't that I hadn't heard of them, but simply never took the time to research any. I was a devoted reader of design books and shelter magazines...only. I first stumbled upon the blog Bayou Contessa  over a year ago while seaching for lighting.  However, it did not completely register with me that a design blog was something to be read regularly!  I was in unfamiliar territory.  Fast forward to August of 2009.  Frances Brayshaw of Pear Tree Cottage asked me to submit a topic and proposal for her designer seminar series.  It was through participating in the series that I met Lauren Leiss of  Pure Style Home.  It was through this chance meeting that I read some of her posts and begin to read a few other blogs. Which led me to the discovery of many others, which led me to become completely smitten with the design blog world!  I am truly looking forward to sharing ideas, knowledge and inspiration with the many talented designers and blog authors who have unknowingly inspired me to venture into blogging.
