Tuesday Tip

Get pumped! The search for the perfect soap pump. Regular readers may recall my soap obsession that I previously talked about here and  here. A few of you asked about pumps. Well I like those too, especially in the kitchen and laundry room. I have an integrated polished nickel pump by the kitchen faucet and always have a pump on the mud sink. And, recently I put one in our power room. I think the key is finding one that you really like and can refill, including the plastic versions! Otherwise, it's a lot of extra waste winding up in the land fills. Try to opt for the eco-smart pouches when you need to refill your pump!

So can we pump and still live beautifully everyday? You bet! I see pumps all the time in stores, but went searching online as well. And, here are some beautiful styles, in ceramic, porcelain, glass, stone and wood. A seemingly endless array of choices to suit every taste!

  1. Very nice! I am obsessed with the foaming soaps which unfortunatley can't be put in a regular dispenser :( That is one of my few "non-green" guilty pleasures but I can't seem to find a soap I like as much to replace it, shhh, don't tell! *Amy

  5. It can be hard to find a soap pump that's not an eye sore and you've done a beautiful job of hunting the best ones down!

I've been reading your blog for a while...great stuff! :)

  6. We have pumps at every sink - bar soaps get so sloppy. Love the more contemporary looks and the Savons de Marseille smell so delicious!

  9. What a great obsession. I've keeping my eye out for pumps that fit a few cork topped glass bottles I have. It's so great for us lazy or always in a hurry types, for lotion as well as soap.

  10. I definitely believe that having a nice soap in your bathroom makes all the difference! We have the Loccitane soap you featured here in Verbena, and I love it!

  11. I have to admit to being a devotee of L'Occitane liquid soap.
Honeysuckle was my favourite, but I don't think they make that anymore, so now I choose Lavender.

  12. Great styles! We have a glass-style pump in our kitchen but thinking that the bathrooms should have some as well. The bars are really messy and I don't think last as long as liquid soap.

  13. Love the cherry bomb one! I always have luck at the Container Store finding soap containers. They just give that finishing touch to a room.

  18. I adore these soap dispensers - Prefer them in glass bottles rather than plastic, though. I adore the timeless marble one;-)
